What extended warranties does CarSimple offer?

CarSimple offers 2 levels of extended warranty - CarSimple Care and CarSimple Care+. CarSimple Care is the basic extended warranty coverage and CarSimple Care+ is the comprehensive extended warranty coverage. Please refer to our Protection Plans page for the full details.

What warranty coverage is included in my purchase?

For vehicles still covered under the manufacturer warranty, CarSimple coverage takes effect only upon expiry of the OEM warranty but always up to 30 days or 1,500 km from the time you take delivery of the vehicle. For example, if at time of delivery, there is still 10 days or 500 km on the OEM warranty, then CarSimple’s warranty covers the remaining 20 days or 1,000 km.

For vehicles that are no longer covered by the manufacturer, the CarSimple warranty covers the full 30 days or 1,500 km from the time you take delivery of the vehicle.

What are the tire levy and PPSA fees for?

The Tire Levy applies to the purchase of new tires only, e.g. if you purchase a set of new winter tires. PPSA is charged by the financial institutions to register the loan on the government registry to indicate that the vehicle is collateral for a car loan. PPSA fees do not apply if you choose not to finance your purchase.

How do I know I am not buying a car with more damage than shown in the pictures?

We have a very thorough process for imaging which builds off our 153-point inspection processes. We specifically use damage tagging to ensure every item that needs to be brought to the customer’s attention is done so transparently and efficiently. At delivery we conduct a final inspection with the purchaser to ensure the vehicle you are buying matches exactly what was advertised.

Are there any hidden fees or charges?

In short, no - we have only one fee. Our Concierge team works hard to ensure every customer receives a thorough, high quality experience. Since we do not pay commissions at CarSimple, a service fee is added to each transaction, covering the cost of researching, coordinating, documenting, and preparing all required documentation to ensure the title, insurance, and other information are accurate, and ready for you to sign electronically. Applicable extra fees may include government fees, financing fees and taxes. All fees are visible on the car display pages.

Will CarSimple accept my car if it has negative equity or I still owe money on it?

Please contact our concierge team and they will make the necessary arrangements and clearly explain the situation to you.

What documents are needed to sell my car?

Proof of ownership, i.e. a copy of your ICBC registration documents and a copy of your driver’s license.

Will the initial offered value change?

While we will do our best to provide you with the most accurate pricing information, we do need to perform safety and component checks when you drop off your vehicle. Our concierge team will help explain the findings so you can better understand the process.

How does CarSimple value my car?

An independent third party - Canadian Black Book provides us with current comparables that form the basis for valuation of trade-ins. Prices would be finalized subject to a physical inspection.

Can I sell my car to CarSimple?

Absolutely! On the Sell & Trade page we will ask you to complete some basic information about your vehicle and a member of our concierge team will get back to you as soon as possible.

Are there tax savings to trading-in?

Absolutely, the benefit of trading in your vehicle is a reduction in the taxes you need to pay on your new vehicle.

What is negative equity?

Negative equity is the situation where the current value of your vehicle is less than the amount of the bank loan.

How does financing work if I have a trade-in?

Not only do you save on taxes (who doesn’t want to save on taxes), you lower the regular payments you need to make on your “new” vehicle.

What documents do I need to trade-in my car?

Can I trade-in more than one car?

Most of the paperwork will be signed digitally. However, regulations require what is called a ‘wet’ signature on some of our forms to complete the transaction and registration.

When do I receive my car’s title and registration?

You will receive your car’s title and registration upon delivery, either at our location or at your suggested delivery location.

Can I pick up my car from CarSimple?

Absolutely, whichever is more convenient for you.

Can the car be delivered to an address other than my home?

CarSimple is required by law to deliver only to your registered address and turn over the vehicle to the registered owner.

How long is the delivery process?

Timing of the delivery process will vary based on the vehicle. Most deliveries can be completed in under 60 minutes.

What is the minimum amount I can borrow?

Minimum loan amounts will vary depending on a number of factors; a key one being your credit score. Our concierge team will be in active communication with you and the financial institutions to get loan terms that you are happy with.

What if payment is withdrawn for my old car before my new payments have started?

Our concierge team will work with you to take any extra payments into account during the purchase process. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your concierge team if there was an oversight and we will make it right.

How does financing work if I have a trade-in?

The amount financed will be adjusted for the value of the trade-in. Our concierge team will walk you through the process and make sure you understand and are comfortable with the entire transaction.

What if the car I want to sell has a loan on it?

CarSimple will take care of the loan settlement and deduct the amount from the agreed upon purchase price. Our concierge team will walk you through the process and make sure you understand and are comfortable with the entire transaction.

How do I view the amount owed?

Most financial institutions today have banking apps that allow you to view and transact on your loan from the comfort and privacy of your home.

Can I change my payment terms after signing my contract?

You can approach the financial institution to adjust your payment terms. Most institutions will work with you to make adjustments depending on your specific situation.

How does payment work? Can I pay in installments?

Car payments are made through the financial institution and allows you to enjoy your new vehicle without the need to pay for it in full up-front. Installment payments can be made on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis.

What if I want to pay off my loan?

You can make lump sum payments or pay-off your car loan in full at your financial institution. Most financial institutions do not charge any penalties for early payment.

What are my payment options?

Payments are flexible and you can choose to make weekly, bi-weekly or monthly payments.You can also select the length of the car loan, e.g. 36, 48 or 60 months.

When is my first payment date?

The payment date will depend upon the approval date of the loan. Typically the first payment will be due in the month after the loan approval date. Please let us know if there is a specific date that you would like and we will try to accommodate that in the loan process.

When is my down payment due?

The down payment is due at time of delivery or pick-up of your vehicle. We do require a deposit to secure the vehicle for you. If at any time, you change your mind, the deposit will be refunded to you.

What is the down payment required to finance?

There is no minimum down payment required and any down payment amount are totally up to you. Keep in mind, down payment amounts will affect the final loan amount and consequently the amount of regular payments. The higher your down payment, the lower the regular payments.

What will be the interest rate? How is it calculated?

Our concierge team will assist you with locating the best terms for your loan. The interest rate is set by the financial institution and will depend on a number of factors; such as credit scores and current market conditions.

What documents are required? Do I have to provide my SIN?

The credit application will require the same basic information as any other bank loan such as name, address, date of birth etc. Providing your SIN makes it easier to determine your credit score and facilitates the loan process.

Will there be any impact on my credit score?

All loan applications and loans are reported to the credit agencies by the financial institutions..The impact on credit scores will depend on individual circumstances based on the credit agency methodology. Typically, loans will negatively impact credit scores.

I have bad credit, will I get approved? How long does it take?

Our concierge team will work with you to get the right financing in place for your new vehicle. Unfortunately CarSimple does not control the processes at the financial institutions and timing and approval is dependent on their own procedures. Rest assured that CarSimple will support you every step through the process.

Can I finance with my own bank?

Absolutely, we want to make it as easy as possible if you choose to make your own financing arrangements with your bank. Let us know and our concierge team can provide all the necessary supporting documents to your bank to facilitate the loan.

What is the process?
